J Chein & Company metal 7.5" World Globe (USA)

This is a metal 7.5" World Globe created by J Chein & Company of Burlington, New Jersey (USA).  We believe that it dates to the 1960s.  The flight paths  of the first Apollo mission to the moon are noted on this globe with the paths of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd orbits featured over the face of this globe.

The original metal base features the measured distance between the earth and the other planets of our solar system.

This globe was made with students in mind.  It is an interesting artifact from an era where the concept of space travel, both real and imaginary were of strong interest in western culture.

In very good vintage condition.
