Belleek Pink Shell Vase
Belleek Pink Shell Vase
Belleek Pink Shell Vase, with brown mark, manufactured in Ireland by Belleek Pottery Ltd between the years 2008 and 2010.
This vase is footed and features four pale pink scallop shells surrounding the base of the vase.
The tapered neck appears to have a ribbed and then cable knit looking pattern before the scalloped mouth of the vase flares out gently to be finished with simple gold trim around the opening of the vase.
In excellent condition. Quality of workmanship is in keeping with the craftsmanship that the Belleek Pottery was known and respected for.
The Belleek factory began the production of fine Parian ware at Belleek, Fermanagh, Ireland (now Northern Ireland) in 1857 using local deposits of white feldspar and Cornish china clay.
This eggshell porcelain with a white lustre finish enjoyed great popularity during the Victorian era.
It is still produced today in current styles and with continued production of traditional 19th century designs.
