A truly vintage brown corde hand bag from Gold Seal (an American manufacturer).

Gold Seal was a company out of the U.S. which sold both imported and domestic made handbags in a wide range of price points.

We think that this sample hails from the 1940's.

Tight ribbons of brown gimp have been stitched in a pattern to a brown cloth background.  The top edges are trimmed in gold tone metal.

A top clasp of metal gold-tone material secures this purse closed.

The interior boasts an interior side pocket.

In good vintage condition with some slight general wear which is not too noticeable.  There is some extra wear on the underside of the centre of the carry strap (see images).

The brown textile interior is stamped with the gold mark of "Gold Seal."
