A lovely pair of antique porcelain figurines.

A courting couple attired in old fashioned clothing, with beautifully intact delicate details including a gentleman with a love letter and the lady (maiden) plucking petals from a daisy, all exquisitely hand painted with gorgeous colours and sweet blossoms adorning the lady's outfit.

Bears the markings of Jean Gille (Gille Jeune) 1830-1868 of France on both of these fine bisque porcelain statuettes, each with an applied light blue oval pad imprinted "JG" on the underside of the base.

In very good (vintage excellent) condition (not cleaned).

Gentleman is 12" high.

Maiden is 11.75" high.
