A round sterling silver embossed medal, 1 3/8" wide, Royal Life Saving Society, Royal Air Force, RAF Medicine Hat.

One side features "THE LIFE GUARD CORPS."

The other side features "BACK STROKE SECOND."

Bears the a "STERLING" hallmark and the mark of the venerable BIRKS Jewellery company which often provided manufacture of this type of item throughout the 20th century across Canada.

This item is likely from before the 1950s.  There is no date inscribed.

Comes with original red square case 2 3/8" square and paper information card.

An interesting piece of Canadiana, Southern Albertan heritage, and Canadian militaria.
