Vintage, Antique, Cigarette Holder with Fitted Sterling Silver Case

A vintage antique cigarette holder in a sterling silver case.

The cigarette holder itself is carved from a caramel or amber coloured material which may be amber, horn or resin.  The cigarette end is bordered in a 1/4" wide band of 12 karat gold plated metal ("12GP").

The fitted sterling silver case bears multiple hallmarks.  These indicate that it was manufactured in Birmingham (England) 1917.  "HBs" indicates the maker's mark.

The case has a bale that a chain may be drawn through.  The case compartment shows a few bumps, not surprisng as silver is a soft metal and this item is over 100 years old.  the cap is a push-on, pull-off affair.

An interesting item, wholly intact with some age appropriate wear that should not detract from the use and enjoyment of this article.

Cigarette holder is 2" long

The sterling silver case is 2.25" long and weighs 60 grams.
