Vintage Carved Tortoise Shell Hair Comb

Vintage tortoise shell hair combs like this one were favored by women of the Victorian and Edwardian eras and have become much sought after by collectors.

The generous width of this accessory makes a statement as a visual piece that Victorian fans will adore. Tiny marks that prove that this comb was hand carved are evident along the lines of each curl and bend in the comb.  Little nicks from a small blade show that this was done by hand creating an elaborate filigree tall comb made of what we believe to be genuine tortoise shell.
